Wynoochee Road Trip Summer 2016

13 July 2016 Road trip with my neighbor Greg and his dog Gertrude. We visited the Wynoochee dam, river, lake and walked to the Wynoochee Falls for the first time. Our last trip here was December 2013, so we got a whole different version of the area. It was green and moist instead of icy and snowy. It reminded me so much of our Quinault Lake trip a few months ago…still haven’t posted that trip.

First Frost at Wynoochee Dam, River and Lake

Photos taken 4 December 2013, posted 6 Dec 2013 Although some of it may look like snow, every bit of the white stuff is from 2 mornings of heavy frost. It is snowing tonight at my home in Westport, Washington (right above sea level), so I’m sure there will be some snow for me to snap photos of soon. My Best Photo of the Week Challenge – Week 7

Sunset shadow family finished clamming; cold, wet, sandy, exhausted, but happy…

I chose this as my best photo of the week, because of the deep orange-red dominating the photo, and the black human shadows that the setting sun has cast on the sand. This photo tells a story; the background ocean waves and the many sand piles made from the clam gun leavings, and then the bulging sacks of clams that the anonymous shadow people are carrying away with them .
