Wynoochee Road Trip Summer 2016

13 July 2016 Road trip with my neighbor Greg and his dog Gertrude. We visited the Wynoochee dam, river, lake and walked to the Wynoochee Falls for the first time. Our last trip here was December 2013, so we got a whole different version of the area. It was green and moist instead of icy and snowy. It reminded me so much of our Quinault Lake trip a few months ago…still haven’t posted that trip.

Hidden Valley Surprises and Traveling Home

These 13 shots were taken March 23, 2014 near Packwood, WA…catching up on posting photographs.

Another batch of Packwood, WA photos…On my way home from Kevin’s place, I went to find the Cowlitz Falls, but found all sorts of photo-worthy plants instead. Never made it to the falls. Phone photos May 27, 2014. Watch for Sasquatch photo!

First Frost at Wynoochee Dam, River and Lake

Photos taken 4 December 2013, posted 6 Dec 2013 Although some of it may look like snow, every bit of the white stuff is from 2 mornings of heavy frost. It is snowing tonight at my home in Westport, Washington (right above sea level), so I’m sure there will be some snow for me to snap photos of soon. Here is link to my writer site where I posted about this trip http://wp.me/p3i5jo-i3Wynochee 022 I’m going to try this in a slide show, please let me know if this works for you or if you would rather I post them one at a time. Thanks for your feedback!  I admit this is 89 photos and takes almost 10 minutes if you let it rum by itself. Remember the first photo so you know when it is over.

Autumn at the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge

“Any meeting of a river and a sea is a place of change…It will be proof of our ability to survive…if we learn to respect wild places like the Nisqually Delta, to trust them for their naturalness, and to love them for their power to move us.” Victor B. Scheffer, Scholar ans Author.

My son and I had to find a way to spend a few hours while waiting to meet with his son. I’d driven past this place, just off the freeway, many times over the last 25 years. So thankful that our day led us here:>) First, the signs, and then ducks, turtles, frogs and autumn colors. Photos taken by both Jon and I. Here are 41 photos.
